Is character 號 incorrect?

The bottom right part is written like 几 on skritter but when I come across it everywhere else it seems to be written 儿. Can someone clarify please? Thanks

All of the Pleco dictionaries I have show the 几 form. It also references the base character component as hǔ, 虎,which shows up as the 几 form. I only saw one reference using the er, 儿 form, and it was ambiguous.

So, across several references, the 几 form seems to be the standard.

Edit: it looks like the 儿form may be a traditional character variant. The Simplified characters all use 几。

Thank you Apomixis for your detective work  It bothered me so much because I checked a few places including google translate and they all use 儿.

If you switch Google translate to Simplified, it shows the 几 form, but I also see the 儿 form in Traditional.
